We will meet with you at your property, home or in our Hollister office to discuss the scope of your project.

We listen to your ideas, discuss what you want and don’t want and answer any questions.  If you have sketches, magazine pictures or boards on Pinterest we would love to see them.

We will take pictures and measurements.

Following our meeting we will prepare a proposal for you outlining the scope and estimated costs for the design work and your project.

Once the proposal contract is signed your “homework” begins with shopping for fixtures and finishes.  We are happy to help lead you or guide you with this as needed.

Symmetry Design + Build will research local planning and building department requirements for zoning, setbacks, heights etc.

With this information and what we learned from you at our initial consultation we create preliminary drawings for your review.

We meet with you again to discuss the design that you have selected and discuss any necessary changes.

The changes are made and the drawing is reviewed by you again.

With your approval of the drawings we move on to…

The preliminary drawings are refined and expanded to specify selected finishes and fixtures.

You drawings are sent to structural engineers.

Value engineered (meaning the most cost effective and structurally sound) construction plans are made which include all documents and details required for permits and construction including: site plan, floor plans, electrical plans, elevations, structural plans and specifications.

While the plans are being reviewed for approval of permits by the county and city building departments we prepare the bid sets of plans for contractors.

We follow the plans with the plan checkers and respond to any questions, comments or changes they request.

The plans get a final stamp of approval from the engineers and departments involved.

Copied sets of plans are prepared.

During construction we offer a variety of services that include over all construction management of your project or ongoing communication with your contractor and ongoing detailing as needed through the construction process.
